IMHO, That's almost the dumbest thing you could do to an engine.
Think about it, one of the reasons for the oil is to be a layer
between the bearing & crank. So you're going to take some kerosene
or whatever and flush this layer out in the interest of getting
every last drop of that old dirty oil out that you were perfectly
happy with a few seconds ago. You're draining out like 5 qt.. of
dirty oil & putting in 5 qt. of clean oil so the ratio is what...
.001 to 1?  I keep hearing these stories and they make me sick.
Like the guy that always idled his car with the crankcase full of
diesel fuel or the guy that started his motor with the drain plug
out.... the story usually ends up with the overhaul.
