Yes, TF trucks had controls on dash. To right down low I believe. About the
size you state. It's common that control rods are broken on them and vendors
have the new levers for them. But, first, you must Have one! If you have an
aftermarket brand heater, maybe it will only have a fan control and one
lever on it for defrost mode. That's not the standard type. Is yours just a
little square box with defrost outlets ontop? Or maybe NO defrost outlets?
I suggest you buy an Assembly Manual from vendors (about $25) that shows
all pictures of parts as assembled that you ask about. AND, get all the
vendors catalogs, some have to be paid for, for pictures and available parts
LMC truck has good diagrams. Some places are on-line, not all with pictures
though.
I'm not so sure about TF stuff as I deal with AD earlier years more.

I'm looking for information on what the heater situation should be with my
truck. When I got it, it came in pieces, and assembled the truck. It came
with a heater when I got it, but not sure it had one when new. It was a
county truck, a real strippy. now that the weather is turning, I would like
some heat on those cold mornings. Where would the levers have been on the
dash? My truck has 2 spaces in the dash, one seems to be for nothing on the
pass side and the one on the driver's side is missing, which I initially
thought was for an ashtray. They are maybe 4" tall and 2"wide. Was one of
these supposed to be for the heater switches? Please help. Would appreciate
some good pics of an original dash.

Thanks,
