I have a 700 in my 54 with a 307 V8. It has a pressure switch, I believe a 
11lb, lock up. I have one hot wire(when the key is on) running to the tranny. 
So far everything works fine. I did have to cut out the cross member which 
you do not have to do with a 350 tranny. I also habd to modify the floorboard 
so the 700 would fit and go in and out.
