Yesterday I drove my old Suburban to work. At the place where I stop for
coffee a guy struck up a conversation and offered me a '48 3/4-ton Chevy. I
talked to him today and got a little more information.
Its rusty and it ran when it was parked where it now sits. And I can have it
for $100.
I have no desire for the 3/4-ton drive train or frame, though I might build a
utility trailer using the bed. I don't want the earlier cab (my trucks are
'54 and '55 1st) but I like the doors with no wing windows.
If the doors are reasonable I think its worth $100 to get those (I could use
doors for my sub). If I buy this thing are there other parts I should latch
onto for my 1/2-ton trucks?
Anyone near Seattle interested in parts from this truck? I forgot to ask
about a title, but I'm figuring I'll cut up what I don't use or sell...
