Mid model year 1947 was the first AD (Advance Design) trucks. The series
before is now called Art Deco, but I don't think GM called them that.

They changed the AD trucks a little every couple years, with the most
dramatic external changes occurring in 54 with a very different grill on the
Chevy's, and both Chevy's and GMC's have a one-piece windshield starting
with the 54's. The AD trucks were made half way through the 55 model year
when the TF (Task Force) trucks were introduced.

I think www.ChevyTrucks.org has a description of all the changes. If its
not there, I know I've seen it on someone's web site.

Steve,
A '48 would work too :) no real reason, I'm not 100% as to when the body
style changed that's all. Yes Seattle is a little bit far to go, although I
guess if I had the money and it were exactly what I wanted it would be worth
it. All good though, thanks for the tip!
Lisa

Lisa I know where there is a '48 3600. Its pretty bad and certainly not
worth coming from Denver to Seattle for, but knowing where it is, I wondered
why you cut off at '49?
oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959
