That sound like it will work fine, what I did years ago not recommending
it but lasted for some ten years was to repair the broken emergency cable
by putting a piece of copper tubing through the cable and bending it
passed u shape and using the u clamps to hod it tight. the copper seem to
keep the line from chaffing. Worked for me Ed ke6bnl
