The 1947 - 1953 Chevy pickup parking lights that I got from Chevy Duty
were double filament bulbs ... two wires ... I guess they were also
meant for turn signals. I just connected both wires to a hot lead and
grounded the light unit's body to my frame.

Yeah ... I don't have a switch built into my shifter, so I'm just using
a small pull-switch for now. But when I do my interior, I'm gonna
install a lighted flip-switch (maybe in an overhead console) so I can
see (and be reminded) when it's on.

I forget mine occasionally ... that's why I'm gonna get a lighted
toggle switch and put it where it's visible.
