Has anyone had the misfortune of brakes seizing after driving for a while?
I have a problem with the brakes after the truck warms up. Particularly
when I turn the engine off, stop somewhere for a few minutes, then take off
down the road again. After awhile the temp gauge will start to climb since
I am running with the brakes applied. It appears the exhaust was run to
close to the master cylinder. I moved the exhaust further away from the
master cylinder, no improvement. I moved the power brake booster hose
because I thought it might be getting some kind of vapor lock that did not
allow the boost to disengage, as it got hot, no improvement. The dual
exhausts for this inline are running about 5 inches below the power booster.
Could it be locking up? That should be enough clearance. Yes, I am looking
at running a heat shield now. However, I am not sure that will fix the
problem. The brakes are all new or rebuilt stock. Anyone had this problem on
any auto before?
