Thanks for your swift reply. I agree, I think the original steering
columns (55-59) are the same diameter any should fit fine.

If you use the early turn signals with a late steering wheel it should
work OK, although the "reach" would be longer as you suggest.  The late
turn signals MAY (I've never tried it) interfere with an early steering
wheel.
