www.etires.com has an "ask an expert" feature, where you basically email them a question. I sent this same question about tires for my auto transport trailer to them. I was surprised by their response: The first thing I would have done was put radials on it. As long as the size meets the load carrying requirements I see little benefit in doing a "trailer" tire.
