Maybe Frank has the right idea!!!!! Just picked up my Datsun transmission
from the Datsun Doctor. Took it in and told him I didn't want to put it in
the car and then have to remove it again for some piddily 2 bit part. Replace
the bearings, synchro's and seals. Make sure it's right.

Here's the cost break down.

Release Bearing: 062-1117 $32.99
Seal 32114-Y4000 3.57
Seal 32136-H5000 15.87
Bearing 32203-H7300 20.75
Bearing 32273-H7300 39.07
Bearing 32219-H8900 60.91
Bearing 32227-H9700 29.24
Synchro Rings 32604-H9700 189.15 (5 @ $37.83 ea)
Nut 32225-H9700 4.25
Bolt Oil Pan Drain 90009-PH1-000 5.25
Oil Drain Plug Gsk 94109-14000 .48
Clutch Slave Cy. 072-1159 25.86
Hyd Clutch Hose 073-0980 14.03

Labor 4 hours @ $56.00/Hr. 224.00

5% discount on parts -22.07

Michigan Sales tax 25.17

                                         Total $668.52

Ya, "don't want to remove it for some 2 bit part". The only part close to 2
bits was the Oil Drain Plug Gasket. But on the brighter side. What do you
think it would cost to rebuild a transmission in a BMW Z3
