List,

I want to thank all of you for advise for traveling through NY city
and all of the invitations to stay over if I got in trouble. I have
to say that I was very fortunate. Except for two missed turns, I had
absolutely no trouble. Alan and his family were wonderful hosts and
I had a very nice Thanksgiving thanks to them.

I left Alan's (Portsmouth, RI) on Saturday around 12:30 pm and got to
my house in Lexington, KY at 3:45 am. The trip was 950 miles through
nine states and it took me 15 hours with the holiday traffic.

The holiday traffic was simply awful in the city and Conn. Although
I could only find one country music radio station, it kept me up to
date with traffic flow and accidents.

I took the Tappan Zee on the way up and took the George Washington on
the way back. There is construction work on the East side of the TZ
which slowed traffic way down. As someone mentioned on the list, the
GW route was full of terrible pot holes. At 20 mph these were bad
enough - I can't imagine them at 55 mph!

The '59 in safely stored in KY. The plans are to take an inventory
of all of the missing, incorrect, and non-working parts and then head
to Carlisle in May. Hope to see you guys there.

Thanks again Alan, his family, and the list,
Paul
