Hello All;

I have a distributor that is really rusted up bad... It came out of a
'74, 1275cc engine that had quit running. Consequently, I took out the
distributor after trouble shooting alot of other things. Anyway, to
make a long story short, I am surprised that it ran as well as it did.
The plates that the points and condenser are mounted on was rusted so
that it would not rotate. The points cam was so rusted that I had to
soak it for two days to get it off the center shaft. The weights
mounted under the points plate were rusted so that they did not move,
but finally came out after more soaking. Now I am staring at the plate
that is at the bottom of the housing which was below the weights. It
will not move or come out. From reading the manuals I cannot determine
if it is supposed to be removable from the center shaft. Can someone
advise me on this? I don't have the money right now to order a new or
rebuilt distributor. Besides, I think this one is rebuildable if I can
just get past this last hurdle.

Thanks in advance.
