  John
I should introduce him to a fellow that I was in the Army with, his
last name was "What A Name",
spelled just that way too. He was a Japanese fellow and he said it was
pronounced like this,
Watt Ah Nawm Ee. Made no difference, he still got razzed.

Hi Guys
A couple of years ago when I was teaching Vehicle Restoration in the
UK I
had a student in my class with a strange name. It was so strange that
I
assumed that another staff member was playing a joke on me by adding
this
name to my class list. So I duly read out the list on day 1 of the
school
year leaving this name out, and of course, I once I had finished
reading I
had more students than names I had called! I asked the kid his name he
replied "Battery Charger Sir" Sure enough this was the name on the
register!
Mr Battery Charger. The whole class just about fell over upon hearing
his
name and tried to poke fun at him. One or two black eyes over the next
two
weeks and the others did not say much more. BTW he also turned out to
be the
best student in the class!
I guess some parents have a sense of humor??????

OK, due to my extreme dislike of this "Heady" thread,
I have resisted any response, but i will mention a
professor I had in grad school - Muzzafer Shaikh, or,
as he preferred it, Muz Shaikh. I nicknamed all the
profs, and he wanted to know what his was. I told him
only after I got my "A" - Muz Shaikh After Peeing.
