Generator?

it's not the second that i turn the lights on that it dies, it's when i try
to start it the next day that she won't have anything to do with running!!!

Patricia,
If the engine dies every time you turn on the headlights, suspect a bad
voltage regulator instead of or as well as your generator.  When the
generator is bad, the battery should take up the slack when you turn on the
lights.  I ran my MGA for several weeks of daylight driving at a time with
only a battery and no generator at all.  I would just recharge the battery
every now and then.  Ahh, the days of wine and roses (cheap wine, dead
roses)
