I think the technical term is 'wiped'. There doesn't seem to be a mild cam
for the 1500 engine from Kent and their most realistic offering looks to be
closer to a 286 than a 276 which you might find a bit tiresome unless you
really spend time and trouble to get right (eg you could retard the cam a few
degrees to try and tame it down, spend time on the induction and exhaust
system, time on the chassis dyno.
APT (aptfast.com) have a range of cams for the Triumph engine and since they,
like yourself are in the USA they would be worth contacting for advice and
maybe a cam.
I think my recommendation would be to simply have a new standard cam unless
you are on a budget and can get a performance cam cheaper. A cam on its own
is going to struggle to produce much of an increase without a decent head,
intake and exhaust systems and so on and without them the peak power might be
more than offset by what you might lose at the bottom end.
Get in contact with APT and see what they say.
