actually they used a dummy moose - and I'm not sure of the weight, but
in dynamics the point about a moose is that the heavy bit
(body/head/nose) is supported at a height above  bumper height on long
thin legs which smash when hit so that the heavy parts carry on into
your windshield.  They couldn't persuade the moose-makers to adapt to
CA regulations on bumper height.
