Hello Chris,

i'm definetly NO expert and still learning myself, but this is
       what i've heard, learned.

dashpot oil can be anything from sewing-machine light to 30
wt... the thicker it is, the more dampening, thus the richer on
       acceleration....

as to "the order of things"..

       1) adjust valves
       2) set timing
LAST... adjust carbs... a) get them even at idle. (i'm a
beginner, and use a CARB-SYNC tool)
                               b) adjust the mixture on the front.
                               c) adjust the mixture at the rear.
                               d) recheck and reset to get them even
                                  again at idle.
                               e) clamp everything down and go for a
                                  ride... YOU'RE DONE!

some of the more proficient will probably correct me
(PLEASE!!!!) if i have it wrong!
