Daniel,
Yeah, doing the mod is not that big a challenge, IF one knows what one is
doing.  However, it would be time-consuming and tedious to do it
correctly/without warpage.  I guess we have different ideas about value,
"over here" than what you guys have, "over there".  In most cases,
originality is a plus, while modifications, depending on their nature and
extent, tend to have a negative effect on value.

Mini owners do this and it's called de-seaming.  You grind and weld a bit
leave a gap, grind and weld etc and the go back and do the gaps.

I think it would look pretty neat and might increase the value - it would
for a mini.
