Hello N,

in Washington (STATE) its $35. good forever. there are THREE
       variants.
ANTIQUE, which i think is pre WWII,

CLASSIC, which is 25 years old or more, and

ORIGINAL PLATE, wherein you obtain a plate from the year the
vehicle was made. same as CLASSIC.

while there are no STRICT mileage limits, its "around 5000 ->
6000 miles per year, to and from parades and events, and
       "limited pleasure driving".

this is about the same as HAGGERTY insurance.

i personally have original (not THE original) plates for "the
red thing" and Haggerty insurance. living in Western Washington,
i don't take it out of the garage if the roads are wet, which
means at least two days after the rain stops. Definitely
limited, tho last year was GREAT and I probably exceeded
       guidelines.
