Just a gentle reminder that there are probably good workers and bad workers
the world over, irrespective of nationality.
If the profit margins are greatest on the sale of large quantities of
cheaply made and rubbish tools, then market forces will favour just that -
the rubbish tools, wherever they are made. And by further price competition
the quality deteriorates yet further.

My suspicion is that the Chineese as as capable as any nation at producing
quality products, and probably do so. The fault lies with the selective
import to your country (and ours) of items based on price rather than value.
And those importers are very likely your very own home-grown nationals after
a quick buck!
