| Guy, and all,
I can understand why a Sprite owner would dismiss RB Midgets. But from
the MG side of things, RB Midgets account for something like 2/5 of
production, and more than a third of the Midgets still on the road (or
available for sale). I'm guessing, but that seems right. So it's a bit
too much of a luxury to treat them as abominations.
A less than favorable comparison can be made between RB Midgets and
earlier chrome spridgets. But is that the fair comparison? How about
comparing them to Ford Escorts of the era, instead. Or anything from
AMC. Or a contemporary Corolla. In that crowd, they looked pretty good
at the time, and they still do. The '70s were tough on everybody.
