Yup, schmootz is what we call it.
And FWIW, I spoke with a GE Silicone rep some years back and asked about 
the different colors and temps the RTV can withstand.
He said " it's all the same. RTV is room temperature vulcanizing 
silicone rubber"
Si I asked why different colors cost more? He said " so we can charge 
more" So by a tube of GE silicone bath tub caulk and use it for gasket 
goop. Same stuff but a lot more for the same price.
And you can get it in white, clear, almond, brown, silver, black, etc ;)
