On the fuel leak, check the seal on the cap, and the breather hose between the 
tops of the tanks.  My car came with a split breather hose, and there was always
a smell of gas.  My garage was well ventilated, so not much accumulated there.  
I didn't figure it out until the first time I nearly filled the tank.  Then it 
became real obvious.
