Jeff,

A careful re-reading of your letter (and some rebuttal from my son, Jay)
can give a different impression. Maybe your original intent was to warn
new buyers not to get "wooden nickels" masquerading as Tigers. Maybe
your intent was to say "this" is frowned upon by the community", If so,
I agree, as is apparent from what I've said.

If you were implying that a great many Tiger owners demean an honest
hot-rod Alpine, I haven't met any. Maybe I will later, but none so far.

You did "imply" that since the designs are so similar, and "spare parts
situation" being what it is, the making of bogus Tiger's is "justified"
and conversion was just "semantics". Those are the words I was taking
issue with. Maybe you could please clarify that to me. Are you NOT
saying a conversion is as much a Tiger as an original?
