In addition to Armand's forwarding on a portion of one of my old e-mails
(thanks Armand!) allow me to add a bit more. From my understanding, Ford
discontinued making this fan blade in 1996 or earlier. It was pretty much a
stock blade on 70's six cylinder Mavericks and some Granada's from what I
have heard. The best place to find these fan blades will be a junk yard or
a Mustang performance shop.

Bottom line: they are difficult to find, but for my money well worth it when
you do. My understanding is that a Volvo blade (sorry, can't recall who
suggested it....Gary??) works pretty well too. If you do go scouring the
junk yards, you will be looking for the number you referenced stamped on the
blade. It is a six blade fan with aluminum blades riveted on a steel hub.
Depending on your water pump you may have to alter the hub to fit a stock
Tiger water pump. Mine is not stock so all I had to do was remove the
spacer and it fit fine. However, as Armand referenced, you will have to
shave the blades to clear your steering rack. If I had to do it over again,
I would have spent the time and money to take it to a machine shop and have
it done to insure the correct balance. Just to be on the safe side.

Good hunting. If you find a stock of these fans, grab 'em up as there is
probably still a good market for them. As I said, they are popular with the
Hi-Po Mustang and Ford folks as well as us Tigger nuts.

Allan

In looking through my notes, I have found reference to a cooling fan
that is thought to have a part number of "CF-09DE-A".

That number does not correspond with ford numbers in general. I have
found references to six-bladed fans with numbers like C90E-H and C3DE-A.

Does anyone know what the six-bladed fan number is?

Thanks for any help.

Regards,

Jim
