Jim,

I have had the Pertronics Ignitor for about a year, now, and
both it and the tach work fine.  The tach worked fine with
the points and continued to do so after the change.  It's
not the Pertronics.  Maybe some other type of addition, such
as a capacitive discharge high energy unit might complicate
that question, but the points change alone is not the
problem.
