That's why I like my Alger.  Drove it out to Carrol Shelby's ranch in the 
rain with 60 or 70 other crazed Shelby fanatics.  Carrol and wife Cleo had 
no qualms about signing it.  They're just great car enthusiasts.  Maybe 
every owner of a real Tiger also needs an Alger if their Tigers are too nice 
to drive.

I understand and appreciate the value of the TAC program.  Nobody wants to 
be a victim of fraud.  However, Alger owners have probably spent as much 
money or more making their cars beautiful, but are treated like red-headed 
step children at natioanal events.  Who would want to spend a grand or more 
going to a convention to be treated like that.  Even the Shelby club has a 
respected and well attended class for Cobra kit cars.

Last year at the Texas Yellow Rose All Ford show we had 9 Tiger-like cars.  
A very nice display - I think 2nd place.  I can't say how many were Algers, 
but at least one (mine).  Around here nobody cares because we can't be so 
choosy about our fellow enthusiasts.
