At the risk of becoming too wrapped up in this, I took a look at the pictures
in the Tiger brochures that were distributed by dealers when the Tiger was
being sold. As most of you know, there were two sales brochures that were
printed in color - one with a red Tiger on the cover and, later, with a white
Tiger on the cover. Interestingly, the red Tiger brochure shows the short
shifter and a chrome ring and the white Tiger brochure shows the long
shifter and a black ring. Maybe this was another of the changes that
mark the shift from the MkI to MkIA cars?
