Charles-I think the most common used method to remove the broken pin is to
drill a small hole (approx. 1/8") opposite the broken end of the pin and then
use a pin punch to drive the broken piece out. Another way, is a little more
involved, but does not require a hole to be drilled in the fork. Using a #14
drillbit, drill a hole in the center of a 7/16"-20x1" bolt (preferably in a
lathe), this will serve as a drill guide. Screw the bolt into the clutch
fork&using the #14 drillbit,drill at least 1/2" deep. Remove the bolt&
carefully run a 12-28 tap in as far as possible. Next, run a 12-28 nut on a
12-28x1-1/4" bolt followed by a couple of flat washers. Thread the bolt into
hole in the fork as far as possible. Then tighten the nut. This should
extract the broken pin. All of this assumes that you were able to get the
fork off the shaft or in a posistion that it could be drilled in & that the
pin isn't too hard to drill. Good luck. Anybody else have another way to do
