You could always set up a unique ST class to cater to the CRX/delSol fans.
Northwest Ohio Region, which is one of the pioneers of the whole ST/STU
concept, has a special class at their Regional events for CRX cars. Quite a
few of their soloists have moved to racing IT Hondas, and this Regional class
is designed to keep them coming to NWOR events.

Subject: CRX and delSol in ST ?'s

Greetings...

We here in Nebraska have decided to offer Street Touring as a class for 2000.
(We are guessing that it will be a National class in 2000) I know that a
local region can create any class that they want but we like to use the Solo
regs whenever possible.

That being said... what do current clubs do/say with/to the newbie who shows
up with a CRX or delSol that is prepared similiar to the "usual" ST car?

I personally think that these two models should be allowed in ST as they are
not "sports cars" like the Miata or RX7 but based on the Civic platform which
is what a LOT of ST cars are sharing. I have a hard time seeing myself
telling a local delSol driver that he has to go play in the same class as our
local hot-shoe CSP driver in a 1700 lb ex-Endicott CRX when his buddy in a
Civic can play in ST.

No flames... just wondering about how we will need to handle these questions
when they will arrise.

Whoomah! (tm)
