long run to buy a race car than to build it. The idea of driving the car to
the track sounds good but have a backup plan for when you loose a wheel
bearing or someone looses their brakes and plows into you. You may be
better off waiting to go full bore with a van/trailer.
Go karts are a cheap option for road racing on "real" tracks as well as
smaller kart tracks and Solo II. Lotta bang for the buck. You can spend
$1-2k for non shifter models or $3-5k for 125 shifters. $30 get's you 2
practice sessions and a 12 lap race vs $200 for an IT entry fee. A set of 4
tires cost $140 or what a single IT tire goes for. It also fits in the back
