My first car was a Datsun 1600 (as they're referred to here) 510.  Yes, it's 
a 1600 ohc - quite different from the roadster motors (L series?), and 
independant rear end.  Those things handle really well, they're light, the 
standard exhaust manifold was a set of 4-2-1 headers, and it had the 
smallest turning circle of any car I've ever owned.  Certainly I miss that 
car!  Had some great times in it.  The only car I've had since that I 
haven't thought "Gee, I wish it was the Datsun" is my Roadster!

On that note, though, has anyone tried putting an IRS rear end into a 
roadster?  Might make an interesting project - kind of "what if they'd kept 
them going" sort of thing.
