Weld on a small pipe (1/4") thigh up on the filler neck.
Attach a fuel hose and lift the hose as high up in the
trunk as possible. Then drill a hole in the trunk floor
somewhere, large enough to put a grommet in it and let
the hose end stick out about an inch. Not above the exhaust
system. Use a non-vented filler cap. Done. That's how the
European market 240Z fuel filler was ventilated even if the
cap was under a separate lid. No large evap. tanks and carbon
cannisters like you had.
