If you use the high speed screw and slowly turn it in slowly you can see if
the mixture is correct for various RPMs.

I've been using one for about 15 years and find it helpful to see the
mixture. However, the car is not under load so it's not as accurate as it
can be and other slight adjustments to the mixture may have to be made.

It's a great tool for getting a starting point.
