In Tom Phelan's car the roll bar bolts go through the frame w/spacers in the frame so the frame doesn't collapse. There are also spacers between the frame and the body so the sheet metal doesn't collapse. I have seen poorly designed roll bars for the MGB - as a matter of fact I have only seen 1 that I like which bolts through the wheel arches and to the floor. Most just bolt up to the shelf which is totally useless. Mike |
