In answer to your query about bearings, Mike; I worked as an industrial
electrician for a number of years. This included rebuilding motors and
generators. Over the years it seemed to me that the quality of bearings went
down hill. Both from the longevity standpoint as well as getting bad ones out
of the box. Hopefully things have improved over the years.
