I yearn for the days when the FOT flew so far under the radar that the
people who found out about us actually fit the criteria to belong. The
FOT has morphed into something far from it's roots. That's what happens
when there are no rules.

Do I like it? No.

Do I miss what we once had, a forum where real Triumph racers really
discussed issues pertinent to the sport? Sure I do. I know I am not
alone here, every race I attend this subject comes up in conversation.

Is a public FB presence going to move the trend in a direction back
towards our roots? Obviously not.

Is a public FB presence going to move the trend in a direction the
majority of current FOT want? I can't say. I don't know who the current
FOT are.

I just hope the newbies in the sport are getting the support I got when
I was starting out. The relationships I have made here over the years
have made a huge difference to my racing success. I just don't see that
level of support these days. Hopefully the support is happening offline.
The resources we have available here are vast, and from what I have read
over the past couple years, virtually untapped.

What does 'going public' on FB do to us, say, as to going 'private'?
