For the Shroud attachment, I would reccomend a product made for the purpose
like 3M flexible seam sealer. This comes in caulk tubes, is easy to
dispense and has other uses as you are putting your car together. Further,
you
want a product like this that doesn't dry brittle or rock hard (to Mr.
Salter's
point), as this will be impossible to remove. Regardless, the other
suggestion was a great one, don't go too nuts with it, I would seal the
firewall
top, so that the shroud is sealed from engine compartment gases, and a few
other
obvious areas should be sealed as well, like around the wiper holes, vents
(as Rich C. suggested).
I would not recomend any silicone based product. Silicones are very
difficult to remove, and are the arch enemy of painting systems. Some errant
tidbits of silicone material can ruin an otherwise fine paint job. Silicones
should be kept away from raw body work. Others will claim they have no
problems, and have been lucky, but why risk it? If you can't find a 3M type
product
locally, others, like Eastwood sell applicable products as well.

best of luck!
