Taking a second round of parts in for rechroming and need to pull apart
the windshield pillars (BJ7). There are at total of 7 Brazier rivets
(low profile head and chromed), 4 round rivets holding the mounting
plate to the pillar and two flush rivets holding the thicker steel
stiffener to the pillar. My rivet skills are a 'work in progress' but do
have access to bucking bars, rivet gun and rivet squeezer. Would
appreciate hearing any tips from someone who has successfully put these
back together as original.
Is the center bracket that holds the bottom windshield frame to the
shroud supposed to be chrome or zinc?
Anyone have a recommendation for an excellent chrome shop in Southern
California? Lemon Grove Plating in San Diego has not answered their
phone for the last week so they may not be around anymore?
