I think what Tracy is looking for here is what we need to look for on  
our cars as well as look out for while enjoying them on the road.
I see many cars that go thru the shop the should not even be on the  
road. I  had a guy drive in to get the overdrive repaired, when his  
ride got here they were pissed off at the speed he was driving. He  
was checking to see how fast the car was with out the overdrive so he  
could compare it to when it had overdrive. When we were done with the  
repair order he says " Oh by the way check the brakes they go to the  
floor"
I have had cars with steel brake lines crushed under the car and flex  
line cracked, driven in with rear spring mounts broken off, all but 1  
shock bolt stripped out or missing....... I could go on and on after  
40 + years of repairing these cars you would not believe the unsafe  
cars that we have seen.
