We have install a back up pump this way several times and we use a  
turn signal switch for a Bugeye Sprite. It has a left and right  
position with the center position turned off. Then you can stash the  
switch up under the dash or install it in place of the dash light  
switch and just a flick of the switch  and the car will not run.
