Definitely not a disposable mask, I echo the plea for a HEPA rating.  And
don't forget your clothes. (and the floor of the garage)  Dust will get on
your clothes and soles of shoes and into your house. (where you won't be
wearing a mask and others in your family will be exposed)  Fiberglass fibers
live forever.

I respect Alan's opinion on the workings of Healeys...but I must differ on the
handling of asbestos.
The pieces on the Healey can dry out and fray and become friable. The machine
screws can be just as hard to remove as that steering wheel.
So, having done a fair amount of research on asbestos removal in other
applications, I would recommend dampening down the material while working on
it, and use a mask with a HEPA filter rating..NOT a disposable dust mask.
