Wire size is the way to identify coil spring rates.

100/6s and early 3000s had a wire size of .535=E2=80=9D, 225 lbs/in,  =
free length varies 11=E2=80=9D to 12=E2=80=9D;

MKII coils are .590=E2=80=9D, 330 lbs/in, free length approx. 10-1/2=E2=80=
=9D,

BJ8 coils are .610=E2=80=9D, 385 lbs/in, free length approx 10-1/4=E2=80=9D=
 long
