I check from underneath as others have mentioned, but I fill from under the
hood using a 3 foot piece of tubing directed into the tranny hole and stuck
up through the area around the distributor. Where it protrudes above the
dizzy, I stick a funnel into the tubing and fill away. Speaking of which, I
need to do this since the 79 has stopped leaking; usually a bad sign:-).
