I was quoted $250.00 for the entire job plus $125.00 to put it together. It
was to be done in two weeks. Had I known it would be anywhere near this
price, I would have purchased the available INSERT rods and bearings for the
216 so that the babbit issue is moot. I can and do overhaul my own engines
but not babbit. But the price and the timeframe was so reasonable, I let
them do it. Simply amazing.

But then again, I cant go to McDonalds drive-thru without getting a wrong
order. It has to be me. Today I ordered a small coke and large fries. What I
got was a small coke extra ice. (extra ice in a small coke? hello?) I swear
I speak very clearly but I am absolutely convinced its just a brand new
world out there. Everyone I talk to around here has the same luck everywhere
you go. I own a printing business so I think I will make up some triplicate
forms and submit all orders (including McD's) in writing! Hopefully someone
out there will know how to read.

They did a wonderful job on the engine by the way. No complaints on the
workmanship. Goes to show you that great workmanship in business isnt
everything. Integrity and honesty in pricing and scheduling is just as
important. It IS a hobby so I shouldnt be whining. But when you spend about
8 hours a day on your hobby, it becomes a bit more than just a "whenever is
fine" deal.

I have saved lots of money just sitting here listening to you guys. So I
suppose it all evens out. From now on, I do it myself. I dont care what it
is! Many more updates to come!
