I have a '79 Spitfire and the rear chrome from '77 or so bolts right on with
no problem.  I haven't tried the front chrome yet, but I can't imagine it
being to hard, as long as you keep the foam rubber pieces.  

I have decided to leave the ugly black bumper on to protect the paint job. 
I live in new orleans, and there are many bumps that go one around here.
