Depends on how much you spent on it. A friend went through a Spit 
restauration that cost him about $13000 in parts plus 1 year of time. 
Obviously, that is car you never want to sell because you spend far 
more than the market value. But also, it is a car that is now better 
than when it left yhe factory (galvanized frame, all SS exhaust and 
SS screws everywhere, updated suspension, leather interior etc.).
If you are forced to sell a car like this it is only naturally to ask 
as much as possible.
In fact I know of somebody who spent close to $23000 on his Spit 
and actually sold it for $14000. (This was in Germany though where 
the pricelevel is a bit higher. Early original MKIV 100% cars yield 
about $9000.)
