Hi Neil,

In my '79 the upper prop rod is fitted to the FORWARD hole in the wheel
arch, not the one in that little 'valley'.  

What is the interference point when you use the front wheel arch hole?  If
it's the arch itself, do you have enough spacers fitted on the mounting
bolt?  Mine provides about 1/4 inch of clearance between the bonnet and
prop rod.. And nyloc nuts are used, I assume so that they can remain a bit
'loose' on the mounting nut and let everything swivel.

Or, could just the top rod be end-for-ended?  Mine isn't perfectly
straight. Let me know if you want a diagram.  (Wish I had the digital
camera that's on my Christmas list!)

And just to clarify, the clutch fluid pipe on mine never extends past the
firewall; in fact it is clamped to the PWBA (the brake warning light
thingie) next to the brake master cylinder.
