Hi John,
Well, you don't want stock, so you can paint the block any colour you
please. On the other hand, I have seen gloss black blocks with the
ancillary components chromed up or painted to match the body colour -
this looked really cool.
I don't think that I'd go to the white. I've seen some components done
in white (and even an engine block, if I recall), but I didn't really
like the effect. Gun-metal grey, otoh, would look OK, I think.
You could also go with a contrasting colour to the car - how about a
bright red, orange, or yellow?
